couple of hours after replacing my cmos battery i turned off my laptop with the powerbutton (the button and frame is deformed/elevated). Now when i turn on there is no cpu fan no screen no beeps.

(when i press the powerbutton, it pushed down the frame and affected hinge) I have this laptop for 10 years almost it is a “Clevo” with 16gb ram 500gb ssd. i replaced the cmos battery because i couldn’t suspend in linux. then this happend hours later after i turned it off. i don’t know if it is a coincidence that it died after replacing the cmos battery . too i remember vaguely i changed once settings about beeps in the bios but i am not sure, if that could be reason it is no producing beeps.

my guess is that you did not re-assemble the laptop correctly especially the main battery. You have to look at the underside and verify that all is installed and it looks flat with no parts bulging or out of place. Recheck your CMOS battery installation, that it is also in the correct spot and flat to the motherboard. Don’t be in any rush to re-assemble it and everything should work and fit perfectly together.
