Hello Everyone, I’ve been working with my old MacBook Pro for some time - today it was running all fine but all of a sudden it is no longer turning on, no lights on the hard drive, fan does not even attempt to start when I press the turn on button. I’ve noticed that if my electric cord is plugged in the battery shows as charged 100% IF I unplug this, the battery status lights won’t even turn on - I tried disconnecting all of its connectors from the board - I think I disatached the speakers and subwoofer I already tried the resetting of the battery, I tried turning the laptop without the battery, but nothing works. My guess is I lost my macbook’s logic board .. it is a mid 2010 laptop after all… why else would the battery lights not respond at all if it is not plugged in? Because of the lock down I cannot get technical support really.. so any guides to how else I can diagnose a dead motherboard I will really appreciate.
Unplug the battery from the logic board and disconnect the mag-safe. Press and hold the power on button for 10 seconds. Reconnect the battery and then the mag-safe and see if you get a spontaneous reboot.
