Hard to answer without make and model. On the Internet can find videos or manuals on how to take apart your model. If you see the exhaust area is plugged up its easy to use compressed air to get rid of dust. You can also get so app to see how your fan is working. Replacement fans cold be the solution. Lastly if your drive is old sometimes overheating can happen even without exhaust issues… Heat sinks can help and be purchased at computer stores.
