My laptop (Asus Zephryus GA502) was charging only at certain angles so I gave it to someone for a power jack replacement. They replaced the jack with another one but the laptop is not charging now and the processor is stuck at 0.39 GHz. I am using the same 180W (20V 9A) brick that came with the laptop but it just isn’t working from some reason. What could be the problem? Would appreciate any help.
Hiya, couple of points, What gave you or the person doing the repair the impression it was the jack and not the power adapter? If charging only works at particular angles, like you say, this is normally due to a bad connection and from my own experience, this is normally on the power pack end and not the laptop end. 0.39Ghz sounds like low power mode, it’s just not getting enough juice by the sound of it. Connectors all have ratings, poles etc. so often, using a lower rated connector will lose too much power as heat or earth out. If it were a professional that did the repair for you then I would go back to them to check it over again. This laptop from what I can see has USB-C connectors, have you tried charging the laptop via USB-C? Hope this helps, let me know how you get on Regards, Rob
