Chosen Solution

Hello, I was having issues for a while where my laptop battery wouldn’t charge and my computer would immediately turn off when I removed the charger. I bought and installed a new battery, and the battery has now charged to 100%. The two power lights on my laptop are now a solid blue, where before one of them was flashing orange. Still, when I unplug my laptop, it immediately shuts off. What can I try to fix this? Thank you in advance. Update (06/18/2020) The solution was found here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9rIo2Kj

that sounds like a broken battery.

If you are using Windows 10, Try creating a Battery Report. Here are some steps on how to do that.

  1. Right-click on the Start menu to bring up the menu.
  2. Choose Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows Powershell (Admin).
  3. Run the following command: powercfg /batteryreport /output “C:\Battery_Scan.html” .
  4. Open file (Navigate to the C: drive in explorer there will be a file called Battery_Scan.html, Double Click it).
  5. Check the report.. (Under Battery life estimates and the Battery Usage graph will be the most useful information).
