So. I have this laptop pavilion dv4 1225dx and when I turn it on, fan spins for a few seconds then turns off. I can hear the HD on, and the power led is also on, but nothing nothing on screen. I tried changing the Memory and reseting the bios, nothing changed. Can anyone help?
Hi @tecnoob , How did you reset the BIOS? Did you remove the RTC battery as well as the main battery from the laptop and then press and hold the laptop’s power button for 30 seconds before replacing both? If not, try that and check if that allows the laptop to start correctly. Here’s the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.69 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the RTC battery. While you have the RTC battery out, check its’ voltage. If it is <2.6VDC, replace it. The part number for the battery - 486835-001 is at the top of p.69. Search online using the part number only, to find suppliers of the part that suit you.
