I replaced the display assembly of my MacBook Retina Early 2016 over 24 hours ago now, and the laptop will not power on through either tapping or holding the power button. I have tried holding Shift, Option and Control keys, as well as resetting the PRAM, too, to no avail. It’s definitely not just a display issue, as the light on the Caps Lock key is not illuminating, and the track pad is not clicking. Anything else I can try? edit: sorry, I should’ve clarified - I definitely disconnected the battery using the pushbutton before disconnecting anything, and I have had a regular ol’ USB charger charging the laptop for ~24 hours now
For retina Macbook, if you disconnected the battery using the disconnect pushbutton, you have to use a regular USB charger to charge it back on, pressing the power button along probably won’t work. If you didn’t press the pushbutton before disconnecting the trackpad, you probably have fried something.
