My laptop won’t power on without the charger being connected to it. It is only 2 years old and has not been used for a long time. It fails to charge up to 100% too. When it switches off it produces a clicking sound. What’s the problem
My best guess on this is that the power board or power supply that switches from battery to wall power is having a problem. and or the battery itself is having a problem. The clicking noise makes me think its the power board itself. I have never worked on a laptop like this so I don’t know the details of how it’s made, if it has a changeable battery you might start there.
Hi, If the laptop hasn’t been used for a long time then perhaps the battery hasn’t been being charged either. Rechargeable batteries need to be charged occasionally otherwise they can fail. Create a Win 10 battery report to check on the status of the battery. If the battery needs to be replaced, here’s the ifixit ASUS F555UA-EH71 Battery Replacement guide, that will help. Replacement batteries are available online. Just search for Asus F555UA-EH71 battery to get results for suppliers.
