Chosen Solution
My 27 late 2009 imac short circuited whenever I installed its graphics card and I made sure it wasn’t the Logic Board. I am searching for a new graphics card but most 27 inch graphics cards are either very expensive, out of stock or sold on ebay which I fail to trust. I was wondering if the 21.5 inch model’s card would work in place of a 27 inch card. Thanks.
These should be the compatible ones:
- ATI 4850 Card
- ATI Radeon 6970 Card
- The ATI Radeon 5xxx series from the 2010 should works as well, but they are very rare for some reason. However here on ifixit I have read about some potential issues when updating macOS to High Sierra so I’ve asked a specific question.
