The picture is taken from somebody on the forum with a question like yours. If is that metal plate underneath the Touch ID (home button) plus, is best to put it on the new screen. You can take it from the old one using a bit of heat and tweezers. Your Touch ID (home button) may have problems without that. The answer is yes if it is this one which holds the home button in place and allows it “click”
This and the LCD shield is the only pieces of metal I can think of. You need both. If the screw is stripped, put a little drop of super glue on tip of the screw driver then let it cure on the stripped screw. Be careful not to use too much glue. I hope this helps.
