Lcd Tv No Picture But Sound Lg Television

I have an LG 47lg70yd LCD TV. When I turn it on there is no picture, but sound. The screen illuminates in the sense that is broadly and evenly lights to a darker shade of grey. If I leave it on for forty minutes, turn it off and turn it back on everything works(picture and sound) perfectly until I turn it off again. It will turn on again and work properly unless I leave it off for a period of time. Then I have to repeat the above procedure. I replaced the power board with a new power board. No difference. Any suggestions?

Hi @gjc19 , Does the problem occur on all signal input types e.g. HDMI, component video, composite video, co-ax etc? Here’s a link to the start of the troubleshooting section of the service manual, which may be of some help.
