Hello! I performed an SSD upgrade on my late 2012 iMac.

After doing the swap I was able to perfectly use the machine.

A couple of days later, I booted it up and found the screen was all messed up

This is definetely weird. What’s a good suggestion on how to proceed?

Did you follow this Fixit guide iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2544 Display Replacement using the special cutter? I’m suspecting the display gt damaged some how. To isolate the issue I would plug in an external monitor to see if the problem is present on it. If not then you’ll need a new display, if its still present on the external then your GPU on the main logic board has failed.
