Good day. I have a LG model UA55F8000ATXXA 3d LED tv with the left half of the display a bit darker than the right half ( the split is exactly in the half with a straight edge…no fade ). This tv only lasted 2 years and is now standing for another 2 years. The unit was very expensive and i am just not happy with “ we do not support “ it anymore. I have taken it to two repair places, but they haven’t even seen another one like mine, so no luck with fixing it. Can anyone please help me in the right direction by fixing it myself. See attached picture.
Thanks
I replaced a T can board and it works now. It cost me close to 40CAD on Aliexpress.
You have a bad lean and either you can try applying some pressure to that side even hit it with your hands (one on the front and the other on the back at the same time) and then can check the fuses. But most of the time it is a bad connection like an original that has just become loose.
@moxy not sure if you got your TV repaired within the last 3 years :-) Anyhow, this does not look like a backlight error at all. It is possible that this is a T-con board issue, a LVDS flat ribbon cable issue and even a panel (LCD driver board issue). I check with a new T-con board first. My concern on this is really that this is a panel issue.
