Hello! I got my Lenovo tablet 2-1050F ( Mfg Date: 2014-12-23) in January of 2015 , I wasn’t frequently getting on my tablet more than once every 3 day and sometimes I decide to use it and I find that the battery is empty, while there were no applications left open that may cause the battery discharge. Today and after three days of non-use the Tablet… I found the battery empty, I plugged in the original charger but nothing worked even the light around the Bush button key. I searched the Internet looking for a solution and I have followed the steps showed below but it has completely failed

  1. Plug the power adapter into the Tablet
  2. With the adapter plugged in, Hold down the power button for 20 seconds
  3. Disconnect the power adapter from the Tablet and press the power button for 20 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the Tablet. It should power up just fine. Please any other help rendered shall be of high importance

I had to open the tablet, disconnect the dc power jack connector and then reconnect it. After doing this, then you should be able to plug the tablet back in to power and it should start up. On my tablet, there was a third hidden screw under the opposite side of the label that I peeled to find the first hidden screw. Be sure that you locate all the screws before trying to pry the case open…

It should power up just fine.

yours solution does not works (In my opinion). I have to dismount back cover and disconnect PRIMARY (rechargable) battery. After it - shortcutting RECOVERY battery (small button battery - connected thru blue and red wire) for erase recovered memory. Then connect primary battery. After this procedure table has been repaired and normally operated. Just only date and time was reseted. Ciao, Honza

Its Fine, dont worry. Put the tab in charge for like 3 days, do not touch it. Then try to power it on, if it dosent still start [its a high possibility that it will start]. Then the only other option is doing factory reset[I dont recommend it].

My tablet (Lenovo Tab 10.1) started playing up charging, i had to put the charging cable at a angle for it to charge, or put something under the cable to slant it a bit for it to charge. It got worse as weeks went on and wouldn’t charge at all. I tried the stuff people said with leaving it on charge for 3 days etc, nothing. Tried 3 different cables and chargers and nothing. I got 2 of the same tablets and all the chargers worked fine with my other tablet. Then i found my Genuine Lenovo plug & charger which i used for my FireStick and thought I’d try that. And it worked!! All the years of knock off chargers must take its toll on the tablet, My phone sometimes does that, needs the Genuine cable. I hope this works for other people. Saved me money, was going to buy a new one.

My Yoga would run on power but not charge at first intermittently then permanently. I spoke to Lenovo help line and they had me update some drivers and BIOS. Been fine for one year since.

NONE OF THE TIPS WORK My tablet is Lenovo yoga tab 2 1050f . I have tried all the solutions listed above but none of them seem to work for me. my tablet was given to me by school and now it has this problem. wont charge and wont turn on. i also tried opening the back and removing the primary battery but I don’t know how to take the primary battery out. please let me know a solution. Thankyou

I had this problem and it fixed it. My laptop is now charging. What did I just do? Reset it?

Check hdmi connector.. mine has an obvious bent pin and burn mark. I believe that this is the cause as battery voltage recovered when disconnected. Its possible that disconnecting the 5v to the socket might be a workaround but need to investigate further. Incidentally this is a weak point on many devices and backfeeding can cause serious damage.

As I have this problem plus following guideline information on many sights still Lenovo 2 tab was completely dead having bought it mid 2015 .It is in the repair stores due back within next few days .I can report back here the electrical engineer report might be of some help to you people .I have a monthly general domestic repair and support insurance I took out when purchasing Lenovo I’m glad I did as it does cover this device for damage no matter how caused plus eccessaries if unrepairable I get a new one or voucher to redeem .Will report back soon hope I can guide you what might be the issue .My gut feeling is dead battery’s or jack point damage I think that’s what you call it, or gateway charging unit .

I have a Lenovo yago A12 and I just bought a Lenovo adapter still not charging 0% but it comes on tryed the 20sec still not charging can you help me please

Thanks I don’t know I tryed everything who can I talk to

I’ll say it again….When it occurred again I on-line chatted with Lenovo and they had me update some drivers and BIOS - great now.

Kinda hard when the computer won’t power up

Yes, your right but the message is use another device to get an on line chat going with Lenovo - have your Yoga serial number etc ready.

Hi I have got the same problem,I do not no if it’s the battery is dead, there is nothing wrong with the charger,I got the casing open, I can take out the battery, but it has got a copper power censhon to the battery,I do not what to tamper with it, could you explain what can I do,thanks.

This 20 seconds holding the power button thing worked perfectly. My tablet turned on in about 16 seconds. It is working and charging just fine now, like nothing happened. Weird. But thanks for the tip!
