For laptop housing screws that work loose, is Loctite Blue 242 OK? Loctite recommends the Blue type for larger screws and the Purple 222 for small screws. I already have Blue, and was wondering if it would be OK to use for small computer screws that are desired to be removeable later.

If you really want the screw to be removable (without destroying it) I would use clear nail polish! I find threading the screw in and then backing it out a turn or two placing a small amount around the screw shaft the snugging the screw down is the best way. Thread lock is iffy! The needed strength to break the bound given the size of the screw becomes a serious issue. Small 2/3 mm screws really need Purple or even less! This gets into how much is placed on the screw threads. You’ll note most screws only have a small strip along the threads coated so only this small section is seized vs the entire thread surface. Many people over do it! Which is why I recommend using nail polish as heat or a good solvent will break the bond unlike Loctite if over done or to high a value used.
