Is it possible to replace the 2017 3.5GHz i5 Logicboard with a 2020 Imac Logic board? Is the Housing and the screw holes the same? Thank you and best regards :-)
I don’t think anyone has gone that far with the newer iMac’s. Apple has altered the cases quite a bit between the different series as you can see in this posting o the 21.5” models Are iMac cases compatible between 2013-2020? With your 27” model: 2017 - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-016662019 - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-030642020 to current - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-04246 As you can see Apple has different P/N’s for each series here. So we can surmise Apple altered things between these systems.
