So my Macbook Pro Late 2016 has recently died from a water spill, I’m trying everything but I think the logic board is fried. I’m wondering if there’s a way to potentially retrieve my data from the SSD, since it’s able to be removed, and if so which enclosure or reader would be best for the one in this model (Late 2016, A1708). I’ve been looking around online and I found some for earlier models but I want to be sure before I order which one is right for this model. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Oh No! Not good… OWC is one of the few companies which make cases to house Apples custom SSD’s. Sadly, the new function key model uses a still newer physical connection than what OWC offers in their cases so there is no means to gain access without leveraging a second MacBook Pro 13" Function Key system to host your SSD (swapping them out) then copy off your stuff to an external drive then pop the original SSD back in (if its larger).

I can help you getting your data of the device if you send me the ssd as I can put it in my macbook and send you all the important stuff you want :-) Sounds better then spending a lot on a new macbook just to void it’s waranty because of swapping it’s ssd out with the one of your liquid damaged macbook right?:-) Cheers
