In these trying times I find myself not wanting to throw out an old machine or buy a new one just yet - I have always liked reusing things so I’m researching this same topic I have a dead MacBook Pro 10,1 with a perfect screen and case and would like make a frankenmac I’m only finding 11,2 and 11,3 which I know been able to determine which different plugs the monitor vs the body have that are incompatible parts… If its just the webcam that’s incompatible I can live without that - but the power and video of course need to match - but I can’t find info on specifically what has changed Does anyone know where I can look for that? Thanks!
Your expectation of being able to swap parts around is just not possible with the A1502 13" MacBook Pro series The sub version MacBookPro10,2 parts are interchangeable only within the 2012 & Early 2013 models.And these sub versions MacBookPro11,1 parts are likewise only interchangeable within the Late 2013 & Mid 2014.And MacBookPro12,1 is unique to the Early 2015 models and parts are likewise only interchangeable within Early 2015 system. One last point: The 11,2 and 11,3 are 15" models not 13" and their parts are unique to them selves.
