I have a 2017 Touchbar MBP 13”. All four of it’s USB-C Ports are very very loose. I found replacement components here on iFixit but they don’t correspond with any repair manuals. Does an A1706 / EMC 3071 require soldering to replace these components? The replacements seem to have a standard connector, not a soldered connection. Any help is greatly appreciated.
The ports are discrete and should be replaceable without soldering. It looks like you will need to temporarily remove the logic board in the process though to remove them. Look at Steps 30 to 32 in this guide.
