My Mac Mini Mid 2010 has issues logging in, going into internet recovery, and pretty much any task. It will appear to work fine for 5-10 minutes, then it powers off entirely, and the fans stop. This was the issue before I opened it to replace the thermal paste and clean the dust out. So I didn’t make it any worse or any better. The RAM sticks are OWC, so I think it’s safe to say they are in good health and quality. I think it may be an issue with the hard drive? It was a family computer that went through a lot, so maybe it is broken? IDK, and the data on it doesn’t mean anything because there was always a backup. I am kind of at a loss on what to do; I would appreciate any ideas.
Without the benefit of running diagnostics we could try seeing if the problem is the power supply. From what you describe I’m thinking that’s the issue here. You’ll need Mid 2010 Mac Mini Power Supply (85W), Apple P/N 661-5654 and here’s the repair guide you’ll need to follow to replace it Mac mini Mid 2010 Power Supply Replacement
