Hello, I spilt some ginger ale on the table and i think it touched lower case of my mac pro. Right after it touched the mac, mac was in sleep? or shutdown? I couldn’t tell for sure because all the status buttons were lit even though it was stop sending signal to a monitor. So I unplugged everything and dry it up now. Should I try to turn it on when I think it’s all dry up? I have no idea about Mac pro and it seems like there weren’t many forums for it either. Please help me. Thank you in advance!
Shut down and unplug the computer. Follow this guide to remove the logic board. Immerse/wipe the board down with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. Using these guides, remove other major components, such as the Interconnect board, and clean them with isopropyl alcohol. Clean all of the connectors as well. Check for any residue in the device. Let the parts dry in front of a fan for 24-48 hours. Once you are sure that it is completely dry, reassemble the Mac and then turn it on. Let us know the state of the computer after this and we can troubleshoot any remaining issues.
