hi, so i recently upgraded my macs hard drive to an ssd (mercury electra 6g ssd), i installed it and everything was fine (running fast with multiple tabs etc) it’s been about 2 weeks now and i was just on youtube and using blender on a different window when suddenly everything froze and i tried to shut down my mac, at first it wouldn’t respond and was just frozen in my last used window, then it finally went dark and i started it up, i was met with the apparent evil white screen and panicked. i tried booting in safe mode: white screen, reset the pram: it restarted and chimed and brought me to a white screen again, i tried to boot into recovery mode: white screen. nothing i do is helping. any help would be very appreciated, at this point i’m debating just putting in the old slow hard drive so at least i can see my home screen and figure out if it was the ssd that failed
My first suspect would be the hard driveI/R cable. Use a USB to SATA adapter and first hook up your old drive externally and boot from it by holding down the option key on boot and selecting it. Next try the internal drive externally. MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Hard Drive Replacement When I replace this cable I protect it
