Chosen Solution
hey, I have change my battery six month ago with a iFixit kit. Everything was going well. I am in holiday in the Caribbean, when I plugged the charger the first time (It was running out of battery), I had a very short (0,2s) green light on the Magsafe, then it stopped. And since my mac won’t charge at all (no light), I tried the different NVRAM and SMC, with an other Magsafe charger (a friend have exactly the same mac and doesn’t have any problem…) - nothing. I really don’t know what to do now. Asking myself if it’s a short-circuit that damaged the battery cause of the voltage difference ? Or just that my mac died on me randomly. Am pretty desperate right now because I have all my work on it. Please, help me :) Thanks in advance for your advise !
@jeanlecerf Unfortunately, you most likely have a bad battery (even iFixit isn’t immune to manufacturing defects). There is a known issue with the chips on the batteries board, that either needs replacing (NOT a DIY job) or a replacement battery. I had the exact same issue with a battery for a 2013 MB Air (not purchased from iFixit). Get in contact with iFixit support about the problem. They’ll take excellent care of you :)
Try disconnecting the battery from the logic board and MagSafe. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery, the the MagSafe, you should get a spontaneous restart.
