Chosen Solution

I have a early 2015 macbook air 13’’ and in my ownership of three years its always had a problem with randomly not being able to wake from sleep and totally unresponsive. This has happend to me at least 4 times where I go to use it after its fell asleep, and it just is completly unresponsive. Every time ive been able to fix it by resetting the smc, after resetting I would press the power button and it would just wake from sleep and pick up right where I left off. However this time its done it again, and the normal fix of resetting the smc doesnt work. consistantly (no matter how long its been plugged in for) the magsafe is green when first attached then goes orange within a couple seconds. when resetting the smc after I release the keys the magsafe flashes green for a second and returns to orange. So that tells me something is going on with the smc reset and its not totally dead. I opened the back cover and started playing around with the battery connector, and it seems that no time having it disconnected from the battery holding the power button will yield any result. I read that if your magsafe stays orange after you disconnect the battery then there is likely some problem with the charging circuit on the logic board, and I am experiencing that. What do you think is the next step, is my logic board dead, is there any more test or solutions I can try? Thanks!

At this point I’m sure your battery is bad, as to your logic board thats still a question. You’ll need to decide i you want to put the investment into your system or hold out a bit longer to see what Apple does next week with the intro of the Apple Silicon Mac systems. The current rumors imply a 12” and/or 13” model will be intro’ed.
