This issue started when I opened the bottom cover of my system for the first time to do some cleaning on the fan. Initially, it all worked fine after the cleaning process until a week later, when I realized that sometimes I need to press the start button several times to boot it up. Then, about a month later, I suddenly cant boot the system at all. When I opened the cover again, I noticed that when I press the start button, the fan sometimes spins momentarily and thats it. I tried bunch of random things that I can find online to boot it up and keep pressing the start button repeatedly. Somehow, it worked and booted just fine. But, when I shut it down, I can’t boot again normally the next day. The thing is, I don’t know exactly what caused it to boot again, so I had to try doing a bunch of random things over and over again until it boot. Any help?
I have a macbook air too, (early 2014 I think?) and when repairing it I often forget to plug in the battery cable before closing it. Another thing is after the battery is disconnected and reconnected I typically have to press the power button several times and the fan will start and stop. but after I push it a few times it will start up like normal. also what things did you find online? that may have been a temporary unreliable fix. could you post a link?
