Hello guys, As of today, my macbook is not charging anymore and is completely discharged now. It seems that the problem does not come from the power adaptater since I tried to use it with my smartphone and it charged it. I have the iFixit toolkit and a multimeter and I would like to locate the problem by checking voltage when my Macbook is powered, but I don’t know which pad/pin I have to check. Is there an existing process to do that? Thanks, Sylvain

Generally, I recommend installing a good power monitoring app like CoconutBattery as it can help you monitor things. Here you’ll need a different tool to see whats happening USB-C Power Meter You’ll need to see if the power Adapter is getting power into the system using this in-line with it. Beyond that there is a limit of ones skills. We all can’t be brain surgeons! This is what you’ll need here as you’ll need to be able to read the schematics and board views as well as have a good understanding how micro-electronics works. Even I know my limits! This would push my skills Diagnosing USB-C muxing issues that prevent Macbook from charging Update (05/13/2021) Maybe you need to see the chips that control the charging: Texas Instruments CD3215C00 USB type-C power controller The two dark blue chips marked here
