Hi Guys, I have Mac air 2017 and one day it abruptly goes off (not shut down) while I have 56% of battery. That time I was watching video on YouTube. I tried to reset SMC and other but nothing happened than I simply connect it to charging and after half an hour it showed charging and when I turned back on. But after 2 days when I connect it to internet it again goes off and now it’s not charging showing nothing on screen, no fan or such feel in Mac. I noticed that when I were going off first keyboard backlight went off than screen and now It’s completely dead. What to do ? Update (09/01/2020) Between these two days, my mac was on standby I was not using it.
Then your systems SMC to charger connection has failed and/or you have a bad charger and/or the SMC logic on the logic board has failed. So let’s start off looking at the DC-In Board connection. Looking at the connector on your system has one or more of the contacts become stained as see here
Using a cotton swab (Q-Tip) just damp with isopropyl alcohol, you could also try cleaning the surfaces a fresh pink pencil eraser as well.
