Chosen Solution
Hey all, Quick back story, I have an early 2015 Macbook Air that I am trying to restore to its former glory. My boyfriend got caught in a storm with his computer and it got some water damage. Basically it wouldn’t turn on and after a few months, I decided to have a go at it and attempt to fix it. I opened it up and cleaned off all the corrosion and it turned on, but I hadn’t realized that the battery wasn’t charging. So when I left the computer running unplugged from the adapter it eventually died and now will not turn on. When I plug in the adapter, there is no LED light on the magsafe. Also when I press on the power button I see the low battery icon on my screen. I assume I need to change the battery, but I’m guessing there may be something else wrong since the LED light on the charger won’t appear. I should note that since the battery died, I have been able to start the computer by unplugging the battery and connecting the computer to the magsafe, but the computer shuts off within 10-15 min. Any help would be much appreciated! Update (10/21/2018)

FOREWARNING: I am not responsible for any damage to yourself or the MBA if you do the following procedure incorrectly. Be sure to not touch any of the other components on the logic board when attempting this! What I would try to do first is to get the Mac up and running using your technique of removing the battery and connecting the MagSafe and once the Mac is completely on I would try and connect the battery to the computer. I would then see if the Mac shuts down or stays on after connecting the battery with the Mac on. If you are able to successfully connect the battery with the Mac on and then have the Mac stay on I would then see if you are able to test the battery with the guide below. How to Test a Mac Laptop Battery Be sure to upload an image of the coconutBattery window if you are able to complete the guide! Update (10/21/2018) Sounds like an issue with the battery then. I would suggest replacing the battery to either rule out or isolate the battery being the problem. If the battery checks out then we will move onto a more expensive solution, the logic board.
