Hi, After dropping my MacBook, the screen doesn’t work, and the computer won’t work with the lid open. If I turn it on and immediately close the lid, I can use it with an external monitor. It works perfectly with an external monitor. But if I open the lid, the monitor goes black. I have to force shutdown by holding down the power button, then turn it on again, quickly close the lid, and then it works again with the monitor.
Go to Applications –> Utilities –> Disk Utility. Perform both a permissions fix and a disk repair on the hard drive to see if there is any physical damage to the hard drive.
