Hi, After updating to mojave, a friends macbook doesn’t boot anymore. First it did but the touch bar wasn’t working. After that, it didn’t boot anymore. The backlight is turning on but no feedback from the macbook, no chime, no beep, no apple logo. I tried a lot of short cuts already (NVRAM and SMC reset) but since there is no feedback at all, it seems like the commands are not getting executed at all. Currently I just let it run with the backlight on so the battery gets discharged. I could open it and disconnect the battery but I don’t neccessarily want to remove the tapes on the battery cables if possible. Anyone here experienced this or has a suggestion? The next genius bar is 2 hours away and I don’t have a car.

Ouch! Even if you open it up there is really isn’t much you can do. Then if you do open it up you might give Apple an out to not fix it under warranty depending on what country you are in and if your friend got AppleCare+ service contract. I guess you’ll need to find someone to give you a lift to the Apple Store. Sorry ;-{

I had the same problem After an update the macbook pro touchbar was dead. Now I also don’t live near an Apple store (about 7.000km away!), but speaking on the phone with them they said that is not possible that is because of their update. now there is another person having the exact same issue, and I am sure there are more. I am sure we can find more people with the same problem Andrea
