Hi all, So, when I press the power button on my MacBook Pro, he tries to start and then goes down. I tried the SMC reset, but no luck. After this, I opened it and started measuring the board and one question popped: if you connect the power supply to the logic board, for how long do the fans work while MacBook is off? After I connect the Power Supply to the logic board, mine work for 2/3 secs and then stops. I hope you can help me
If you plug in a dc in board on the logic board while it is disconnected the fan should be on until you disconnect it it. Keep your board plugged in even after the fan starts and start measuring your power rails. Once you find the power rail that is either low or non-existent trace it back to its source using your schematics and check resistances in that area and check for damaged components and measure resistance on . You may end up needing to replace a chip that malfunctioned and is causing your issue. Remember that this model of MacBook Pro has known video card issues so I would definitely your gpu vcore voltages.
