Hi, I have two MacBook Pro 15” Late 2013 (identical). One is dysfunctional (let’s call it A), one is functional (let’s call it B). I have several OEM chargers. When I plug my charger to B, everything works as expected : battery charges… When I plug my charger to A, it charges the battery for few seconds/minutes (LED is orange) then the LED turns off. If I try to plug it again, it won’t charge (no LED). Now if I plug this same charger to A, the charger won’t charge either. The charger won’t charge for few hours/days then it works again normally on B. I have tried with all my chargers, so it’s not the problem. I thought it was a dysfunctional DC board, which I just changed but same problem. I am out of ideas. What could it be ? Thanks !!
Clearly one of your chargers is a good knock off of a real Apple charger! These Fake chargers are hard to tell from the outside as you can see here: Counterfeit Macbook charger teardown: convincing outside but dangerous inside Here’s a good illustration on what could damage your systems internal circuits! Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks!
