Hi, I have a Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013 A1398 EMC 2674. I broke my retina display and replaced it with a brand new display assembly (lid, led, camera etc) So before the display assembly replacement, The macbook was running I could see my login screen even tough the LED was broken. I turned the Mac off, disconnected the battery and changed the display assembly. Now for some reason its not turning on, the charger light is orange. Thank you in advance for your answers.
Disconnect all the connectors for backlight and picture. Then try to turn your Mac on. This should help you troubleshoot and get down to what the problem is (lcd or logic board). And I have powered on my MBP w/o a screen attached before. With connecting a monitor via hdmi, I seen mine boot to the login screen.
