I have a MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 A1398 (EMC 2910) 2.5 GHz (Dual Graphics) Product and i was wondering if i can switch the 2.5CHz logic board i have originally and upgrade it to a 2.8 GHz logic board, would they be interchangeable/compatible? thank you, Ronald B
There are two flavors of 2015 MacBook Pro’s. The intergraded graphics only models (IG) and the discreet graphics models (DG) 2015 15” MacBook Pro (IG) 2015 15” MacBook Pro (DG) Replacing like for like is no big issue. Jumping between IG to DG or the other way around is possible but you’ll need additional parts like the heat sink. Now before you make this jump consider the costs, you might find a use system for less! And the performance is not that different unless you have only an 8GB system (some early IG models only had 8GB). I would put my money into getting a larger SSD.
