Chosen Solution

Hey , I recently purchased a battery and installed it, changed the thermal grease, dusted out the whole thing. Now my CPU temperatures are running around 95C on average, and my fans are on full blast. Happens shortly after booting. Interestingly, I followed the advice of a friend and powered on the laptop with the battery unplugged, just running from the charger. My CPU temp stayed at like 50C, but it ran super super slow. This was even with full app load. I reset my SMC, VRAM, et. I just purchased TG Pro and CoconutBattery, so let me know what screenshots you need! First image is with the battery in, second is without the battery.

Here it is! Update (04/09/2020)

Here you go! Update (04/09/2020) My friend, I think I figured out the problem! I realized that I installed a “Folding protein at home” app a few weeks ago, that I completely forgot I installed! I noticed it in my CPU processes, called “FAHClient”. I then uninstalled it, and now my temps aren’t so bad. How silly of me. I sometimes get to 90C but that’s under a heavy loud, and once the fans kick in high it seems to tame it. Screenshots added above!

I think you have set your energy Saver settings set so you have Automatic graphics switching disabled when on battery which can explain the differences between AC vs Battery temps. In addition the charging logic on your logic board is also enabled which also puts out some heat. Lets get another CoconutBattery snapshot, this time have the MagSafe charger connected, give it a good 2 minutes before you take the snapshot so the system is using it. Post it here for us to see.
