Earlier I dropped my macbook pro from my bed onto carpet, it wasn’t that huge of a drop. I noticed now there’s no display when I startup the macbook, however the screen is backlit. I hear startup noise, Apple logo lights up, Keyboard and mouse works, even see the display is backlit but black. I did the flashlight test and didn’t see anything. Had a screwdriver set lying around so I opened up the back, unplugged the battery and reconnected the display cable and still no luck. Is it looking like a display replacement? Would cost me almost $350. Tried all the resets as well, SMC, PRAM, etc.
You will need to try an external monitor. If the external monitor works then you have a screen or cable problem. If it doesn’t work it would point to a board problem. I don’t think that model has a dedicated graphics chip; instead it is integrated into the CPU. Even a small drop could cause solder balls to crack under the CPU or RAM.
