I have a Macbook Pro Mid 2015 Retina display that I tried to start after storing for a month or two in dry and safe conditions. Before I had stored it, the computer had said that I should replace the battery (makes sense. after all it was 5 years old!). Anyways, the computer doesn’t start. I try everything: SMC reset and everything else. Still does not start. I figure it is the battery that’s not working, so I buy a replacement battery and replace it (using this site’s guide). Still, the computer won’t start. I try to keep the battery charging for a while and still it does not start. I’ve done the replacement before, so I doubt I damaged something while replacing. It could also be that the battery is faulty, but I don’t think that is the case because I tried to start the computer without the battery connected and still the computer did not start. I’m now starting to wonder if I didn’t even have to replace the battery in the first place—-that it was a problem of power getting to the computer; so maybe it is the DC-in board? It is not the magsafe 2 charger because I’ve tested it on other computers and it works. When I connect it to the macbook it turns orange as if charging, but clearly it’s not charging. Can someone help me figure this out? Below is a pic of everything:

Thank you in advance! and here are close ups of the computer logic board:

At this point it could be defective battery! I would get another battery and carefully plug it in (not installed) does your system startup? If not then your logic board needs repairs. One of the nasty’s is getting a knockoff MagSafe charger which damages your logic board. Which could be the issue here: ● Don’t Replace Your MacBook Charger With a Cheap Knockoff ● OEM MagSafe Chargers vs Cheap Imposters: Teardown for Truth ● Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks ● FAKE Magsafe MacBook Chargers on eBay - Watch before buying a Mac Charger While your charger worked on another system it still could cause damage. One of the problems is these knockoff chargers tend to over power a low or older battery which damages the SMC logic on the main logic board during out a few resistors or at worse burnout the MOSFET’s which control the power feeds to the battery and the rest of the logic board.
