I thought I replaced the battery well, but when I plugged it in and it booted up, the keyboard and trackpad wouldn’t work. I reshot it down, followed the instructions and replaced the trackpad connector ribbon, but they still don’t work. Is there a process in reconnecting things that I need to do? Or does anyone have any advice?
I would check that the battery disconnect is properly mounted
and that when the MacBook is plugged in ( with the 5 volt cable ) that the tiny indicator light on the logic board lights up when the button near it is pressed.
Another possibility could be that the battery connections are too dirty to conduct current in which case, rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth could be used. Hope this helped!
