The display on my laptop is suddenly not working. Computer itself is fine, I’ve hooked it up to an external display for now. Check out the picture I’ve included to see how weird it looks: there’s a vignette around the edges of the screen, then in the center of the screen it’s gray with a bunch of horizontal bars and inbetween the vignette and the center part it’s a light grey colour. it started off as just plain grey and quickly progressed to what you see now. I’d like to figure out what components i probably have to reconnect or replace (is it probably just something i have to reglue or do i need to replace the entire display, for instance?) I haven’t dropped my Mac however I do carry with me in a bag, so maybe it got bumped? thanks so much in advance! :) in case the image doesn’t attach here’s a link to it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bed4n20dksmfir

Sadly you’ve damaged the display assembly. You have a damaged T-CON board so the LCD crystals are allowing all the light to pass through! So what you are seeing is the raised center section which you can see here

Now the hard part finding a replacement! The 2015 models are still tightly sought! As such finding parts is getting hard and expensive! I can aim you to a new display which is quite expensive or this one 15” MacBook Pro Display Assembly - Staingate (Grade-B) $334 USD If its really bad you can strip off the anti-reflective coating. A new display 15” MacBook Pro Display Assembly $788 USD
