Hi what’s good, I got problems with my MBP from 2012 which is old, yes, but I don’t want it to die yet. Few months after I replaced the battery these issues appeared, did SMC reset already. Still don’t want to believe that its the batteries fault because it worked fine at start + it aint empty when the Mac shuts off, just happens randomly. Besides I switched the internal SSD after it encrypted itself often to an 850 which I used for work earlier. worked fine but my main feel is that it’s indeed damaged because for example logic shows me signs of “Disk too slow”before I save a project on an external device standalone use doesn’t happen often, but I want to get the source of shutdown before I start replacing parts. Blackmagic Disk Speed Test showed nothing unusual, but I doubt that its accurate (just doesn’t fit the logic errors) back in the days I could just put my Mac to sleep and wake him a week later without losing battery or whatever. now the battery doesn’t discharge much but it just shuts off after max few hours being asleep. I’m pretty sad about it because I like working on the balcony and stuff, although I could rely on an iMac and aint that financially stable, I’d love to continue using this MacBook …

Apple had issues with this cable from one of their vendors and they also redesigned it. I often find the cable is bad or just not able to support the still higher data flows of a SSD over a HDD. I would replace it with this cable MacBook Pro 13” Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable and I would be very careful in how you handle the cable as I’ve also seen it damaged by people not installing it correctly. The issue is the bends it needs to make to get around a few corners. Often people just fold the cable which damages it! The deep crease breaks the thin foil wires within it. The best way to form the bends is to use an old BIC pen ink straw as a brake to bend the cable around so you have a nice arc and not bend the cable any where else. Your Hard Drive Cable Is A Ticking Time Bomb After replacing the cable make a TimeMachine backup and then create a bootable USB thumb drive OS installer following this guide: How to create a bootable macOS Sierra installer drive Using the OS image from here How to upgrade to macOS Sierra as Apple’s older installers certificate has expired If you’ve got an old macOS install image, it will probably stop working today Using it, reformat your drive and install a fresh OS on it. Then use the your TimeMachine backup to re-install all your stuff that way any corruption is removed.
