Hi guys, Ive had a MacBook Air late 2008/Mid2009 for nearly 6 months now and the other day I tried turning it on and the white light comes on but there is no display or sound chime, I can hear the fans running but that’s about it. I’ve tried a SMC reset and a PRAM reset but nothing. I am quite worried as it was working fine but for the past week I haven’t been able to use it because of this. All the help is appreciated :)
A white screen usually indicates a hard drive failure. Try disconnecting the drive and see if it will boot from the original system installation DVD. Next hook it up to an external monitor to see if the GPU is working.
