Hi, My MacBook is running Snow Leopard will not start up on battery, after 3 secs and some optical drive noise it shuts off. With charger attached it keeps cycling trying over and over to boot. When I removed battery and reset SMC holding the power switch with battery and AC disconnected it will start on the MagSafe. This is a new battery I have struggled to fully charge and discharge twice but still if it does start on battery is shuts down after a few mins of operation. I had this attached to a FireWire audio interface and external monitor and stupidly left charger always connected. Definitely try a new battery. Sometimes these apps are a good guide, but I would still be thinking this battery needs replacing.
