Hi all. I’m having a really weird issue with a MacBook. My brother left the laptop in the bathroom whilst showering and ever since that event (no water entered the Mac but possibly steam), the MacBook will not start properly. MacBook makes starting noise and apple logo appears, login screen quickly shows but then shuts down. The only way to bypass this and keep the MacBook on is by holding down the power button. Once I let go, a power down window pops up and then then the MacBook shuts down immediately. Is there any way to resolve this issue? Coconut Battery Test attached :
At this point we need to visually inspect things. Disconnect the MagSafe charger at this point and pull the bottom cover off following this guide MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 Lower Case Replacement Do you see any staining or corrosion damage? You may need to remove the logic board to look on the other side MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 Logic Board Replacement Take pictures of anything that looks off comparing you system to the Fixit pics.
