Chosen Solution
Hello. one of my fans has died and I’m awaiting a replacement. The machine is getting very sluggish on mediocre tasks. Is this relating to only having one fan? Out of warranty so looking here before I go to Apple.
There is a fan for the CPU and the other for the GPU, if the temperature of one of them rises to a certain value then the system will lower their frequency to prevent them from burning and as a result you will notice lower performance.
