When I try to open mail it just goes on and off and won’t bring up the mail.
Make sure you’re running the latest version of iOS, you can check by going to Settings>General>Software Update and doing an update if needed. If the iOS update didn’t fix it, or if you’re already running the latest iOS you could try doing a DFU restore. This will cause you to lose all information on the phone so doing a backup prior to the restore is strongly recommended. To do a DFU restore: Plug your iPhone into a computer running iTunesPress and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for about 8 secondsLet go of the Side button while still holding down the Volume Down buttonAfter about 8 more seconds, iTunes will prompt you to restore the phone Hope this helps!
