I found an Intermatic Master Control D-811 among my parents things & it hasn’t been used for quite awhile. I set the timer & plugged in a lamp to see if it worked. When I turned it to the on position, the light worked, regardless of what time was set. When I turned it to the off position & plug the timer in the outlet, nothing happens, the timer doesn’t move. It seems that whatever makes the timer move is not activated or moving. Can anyone help?
I have a similar Intermatic mechanical timer that is driven by a small clockwork motor. I discovered that the fine wire that comprises the motor winding had broken where it connected to one of the motor terminals.
