Hi, My sweet dog sheds like there is no tomorrow and as a result my 2019 Macbook Pro 16” has a lot of dog hair under the keys. A couple of the keys are starting to miss when I press them. I cannot get it out with compressed air. I think I need to remove every key cap and then blast it all out. The alternative would be a new keyboard but that might be hard. Any ideas?

Popping the keycaps off most likely won’t help as the 2019 model has a membrane which was intended to prevent grit from sneaking in but is useless for hair ;-{ I had two dogs and even my old 2012 gets loaded up to the point I need to remove the keyboard to get it clean. The problem you face here is Apple designed the keyboard as part of the uppercase (screwed and riveted) and the keycaps are very difficult to pop back on without snapping the small catches which will require a new keycap. Do you have AppleCare+ if you do you have an out, letting Apple take the hit. Otherwise replacing the upper case is the only option at aprox $450 USD used.
