Hi All. I’ve replaced the screen on a Macbook Pro A1989 and A2338 today and neither will turn on now. I followed the iFixit guides to a tee, including turning off auto-boot. Both screens are genuine and neither machine has any damaged, bent or broken cables or connectors. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Well, I can’t explain why the systems won’t turn on at all, but I can tell you, you have a second issue new screens need to be calibrated for True Tone services to be set, which only Apple directly or a AASP can perform. A recycled display will have been calibrated and will work straight up. Your FaceTime Camera won’t work and some screens may not work at all as well (M series systems) So while we can dig though the process of getting the systems working you still have a second hurdle to over come! You can give Apple a BIG THANK YOU for that one! Support the Right to Repair!
