I’m having issue with my MBP 15 2019 keyboard, because of 4 years repair program it is still in warranty (keyboard only). But I didn’t have the time to go ask for claim, and now my laptop is not turning on (even I can’t hear fan noise if is make any during open) but trackpad is clickable (how). So, is it possible that because of my keyboard my laptop is not turning on. Please help
I am wondering if it’s possible if you might have a T2 or firmware related issue. These T2 machines can be difficult to tell if they are getting power if the display is not working. I might just double check, some other signs of power, just in case. Caps lock LED may come on, check to see if there’s anything on the display with a flashlight, just in case the black light is not functioning. Otherwise, you can try an resolve a potential firmware issue if you have access to another Mac that will run Configurator 2. Apple has a pretty extensive Guide on this. Bear in mind it is possible that this process could affect the data on your Mac. Revive is generally safe to do without compromising the information on the machine. Restore will absolutely wipe your device altogether (in fact it even unitializes your SSD).
Your keyboard and touchpad are connected to the logic board independently from each other so while one may appear to be working and the other not, does not infer what I think you are expecting. The 2019 system is the last system Apple used the Butterfly keyboard. And you are right you can encounter issues which you may be having. But the inability to turn on maybe still something else! The fact you feel and hear the click action of the touchpad only is telling you the touchpad is getting power! Lets give this a try press and hold the power button to enable SMC reset Reference: Reset the SMC of your Mac Let us know if that worked. If not you have a deeper issue (independent of the Butterfly keyboard issues)
