I made a big mistake: I took apart my Samsung ML-2010 Laser Printer because the spongy roller had to be repaced and I didn’t know that the sponge material snaps out without tearing down the whole thing. Now that I’ve reassembled, some gears have flat ends on them, kind of like a letter D and I can’t figure out how to align the gears so that it will advance the paper sheets correctly.

@drhoo printer repair is a royal PITA because manuals are scarce and repair parts are hard to come by. Nobody wants to repair a printer since it is cheaper to buy a new one. Anyhow, you did not tell us which exact gears etc. It will help if you add lots of images etc. Whenever you run into issues like this. Here is a document that will be of interest to you.
